I don't know the exact story as of yet, but a friend of mine just sent me an email with "Moncks Corner" in the subject line. [Moncks Corner? What the hell iz Moncks Corner?!] That's exactly what I said!! Well, that iz until I opened the email and viewed the attachment.. Yo, you gotta see this!

Evidentally, late Sunday afternoon in Moncks Corner, South Carolina, a 59-year-old man'z arm was bitten off by an alligator as he snorkeled in SC's Lake Moultrie. Authoritiez say Bill Hedden, a retired master chief with the U.S. Navy, was snorkeling at the Short Stay Navy Outdoor Recreation Area when the [550-pound] alligator tore his arm from his shoulder. Hedden stumbled into a party of picnickerz with his arm missing and blood gushing from his wound. Five nurses were among those at the gathering and put ice on his wound and kept him awake until paramedics could arrive. His arm was retrieved from the alligator's belly after wildlife officers shot the animal. The limb was then rushed to the hospital in an ice cooler with a police escort.

Hedden was taken to the Medical University of South Carolina, which declined Monday to release any information on his condition or treatment, citing the family's request for privacy. He was listed in critical condition Sunday. The (Charleston) Post and Courier reported that a family member said doctors were unable to reattach the arm, but that Hedden was nevertheless in good spirits.

First and foremost, I wanna say that my thoughtz and prayers are with Mr. Hedden and his family. I don't know the recovery process for this type of injury, but hopefully, doctors will be able to save his life and get him on track to resume some sense of normalcy once released..

With that said, where you at PETA?!? I repeat: "His arm was retrieved from the alligator's belly after wildlife officers shot the animal." Word..? Now, I'm not condoning Michael Vick's actionz in any way, shape, form or fashion.. BUT!! What excactly did Al do wrong?! [Al'z the alligator.. I named him myself.. :) ] But yeah, what exactly did Al do wrong?! Does an alligator not deserve the same rightz as a pitt bull?! From what I've read, Al was just myndin' his own alligator business.. Tryna' enjoy a nice, calm Sunday swim with fellow alligator family and friendz.. When suddenly, as if often does in the wild, a meal presented itself.. Now, being the gator that I know Al [and every other wild animal, for that matter] to be, he saw an opportunity to feed his Sunday hunger, and he went for it! Little did he know, that there'z now an instant death penalty sentence for being a wild animal in the wilderness..


For Al's sake, it wasn't even the wilderness! It was a lake!! Was he not supposed to be there?! Don't alligatorz live in lakes?! Am I missing something..? Did Mr. Hedden have an underwater townhome that no one knew about?! Was he visiting Al for tea, when a dispute erupted, ending in severed limbz?! No!! A human being, made a choice to swim in a lake that inhabitz a large animal'z territory, and he paid the price for it.. [Are you not remorseful for this man's injuries and his family?!] Yes, of course I am.. But at the same time, if we now live in a society that rankz animal life higher than that of the homeless, then how iz it just kool to shoot a 500lb. alligator for doin' the right thing..? Now, don't get me wrong.. If Al showed up at the mall, Publix, or Burger King, lookin' for a bite to eat, then yeah.. Blast his ass! Everybody knows that gatorz aren't allowed out in shopping mallz.. But lakes?! C'mon, man! If it'z illegal to swim for food in Lake Moultrie, then what other optionz does a brotha' gator have?! I mean, he will never qualify for government assistance [trust me, I've tried..], so food stampz are clearly out of the question.. *sigh* I dunno.. I guess I'll just have to let it go lyke a severed limb, but something'z gotta change.. If Vick has to go to jail for dogfighting, I feel it would only be right to sentence Hedden to at least 5 months for his involvement in brother gator Al's execution..that's all.
